HATHA YOGA

Yoga Classes at the Ashram

Hatha Yoga is the preparation for meditation by making the body healthy and balancing the energy in the body. This is done through the physical postures with awareness (asanas), breathing practices (pranayama), deep relaxations (yoga nidra) and other advanced practices.

No prior experience is required. Hatha practice guidelines have been included to help you make the most of your practice.

Hatha for health

Most people practise hatha yoga for health and stress release. This is excellent. Many then discover that it is possible to go deeper. They then begin to also practice meditation (Raja Yoga).

You are in essence the reality, the all pervading, imperishable atman (self). Identification with the body is the root cause for bondage, for human misery and suffering. Do not become the slave of the body.
