Raja Yoga and Hatha Yoga are probably the most well-known disciplines of yoga. Although they are often regarded as separate branches of yoga, they are deeply inter-connected.

Raja Yoga is the yoga of meditation, which leads to a deeper awareness of the mind, and a discovery of one’s true being. 

Meditation Classes
based on Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Swami Vidyananda is sharing guided meditation
and invaluable lessons from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which teach the path of self-discovery through meditation. All who are wishing to join can contact the ashram, via the contact tab.

Hatha Yoga Classes at the Ashram
Hatha Yoga is the preparation for meditation by making the body healthy and balancing the energy in the body. This is done through the physical postures with awareness (asanas), breathing practices (pranayama), deep relaxations (yoga nidra) and other advanced practices.

Most people practise hatha yoga for health and stress release.  This is excellent.  Many then discover that it is possible to go deeper.  They then begin to also practice Raja Yoga.
